Who We Are
From the Steering Committee
Allston-Brighton Progressives brings neighbors together to build community, practice mutual aid, and fight for progressive change at the local and state level. As a chapter of Progressive Mass, we work alongside organizers across Massachusetts to turn grassroots energy into real political impact.
LOCAL RACE ALERT
Meet Daniel Lander, Candidate for State Senate
Join Allston-Brighton Progressives at our next general meeting to meet Daniel Lander, challenger for the Suffolk Middlesex District for State Senate.
Come to the PSF in Oak Square this Tuesday, March 10th at 6:30pm with your questions for Daniel on his vision for Allston-Brighton and the Commonwealth, and how to confront the cost-of-living crisis in Massachusetts.
Join Steering Committee Members after the event for a quick drink at The Last Drop to start talking about preparing for this year’s elections - including the Senate primary (Markey vs. Moulton), and ballot questions galore in the fall (thanks to our sclerotic legislature).
COMMUNITY EVENT ALERT
ICE Watch Training
Join Boston DSA and LUCE in the fight to protect our community from ICE on Sunday, March 8 from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Allston Abbey.
ICE watch and verification is an essential part of defending our neighborhoods against the terror of this administration.
This training will include valuable information on how to identify and respond to ICE activity in your neighborhood. Upon completion of this training, you will know your rights when it comes to interacting with federal agents, be able to identify ICE activity, prepare and practice confronting ICE agents, and be confident in using a whistle to alert community members.
This event will also have food, child watch, and community! We cannot survive the next three years on our own.
GETTING INVOLVED
Looking to do more?
There are lots of ways to get involved in projects, teams, and organizing to improve life in our state and restore our national democracy. In 2026, ballot questions that we care about will need more signatures. We'll have challengers in much of our area for state senate, US Senate, and we may work on races in other states too. We've always got legislation to push for, rallies to organize, and meetings and workshops to hold.
We also have one opportunity below - this will involve meeting one of our local legislators to lobby to protect our data. See below for more info!
Date TBD | Rep. Moran Meeting (VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!)
A group of neighbors in Allston/Brighton is planning a meeting with Rep. Moran to discuss the Massachusetts Data Privacy Act (S.2608).
While the bill makes progress by banning the sale of sensitive data, it still lacks critical protections. Big Tech lobbyists are working hard to weaken it and block essential provisions.
Rep. Moran and other lawmakers are hearing from these lobbyists, many of whom have close ties to Donald Trump. It’s crucial they hear from us even louder. Want to join the meeting? Email us at: [email protected]!

March 28 | No Kings Protest | RSVP
The ACLU of Massachusetts, Indivisible Mass Coalition, and Mass 50501 invite you to No Kings Boston!
What started in 2025 as a day of defiance has grown into a nationwide movement to defend democracy. On March 28, we rise and say: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. Join us to defend our communities against this administration’s unjust acts.
Protect Immigrants in our Community
LUCE Immigrant Justice Network
If you think you see ICE in the area (tactical gear, unmarked black vehicles, masked men), call 617-370-5023. LUCE's hotline is open every day, 5 am-9 pm, operating in multiple languages. To volunteer with LUCE, fill out the form below.

That’s it for now.
Keep showing up for your neighbors, calling your elected officials, and taking care of your community. We hope to see you at our upcoming meeting on Tuesday, March 10.
